Discrimination By Sexual Orientation

Generally, this type of discrimination has accounted for a lot of cases that are being submitted by the employees around the country. The term sexual orientation defers to the person’s sexual preference for either three of the following types of sexualities; homosexuality or same sex relationships, heterosexuality or opposite sex relationships, and bisexuality, choosing either of the two is fine. This discrimination covers people who are also perceived to be of some orientation when in truth, they aren’t.

Getting Your Health Benefits After Termination

Employees, as far as we know, receive benefits from companies upon employment, ensuring that they are protected from accidents and are insured should they face one while on-duty or even after hours. These benefits insure that they will receive assistance and compensation. However, once an employee is terminated, this mutual benefit ends, and the employee is left with nothing. Termination is one way for an employee to lose this benefit.

The Employee Employer Relationship

A business cannot start without the idea of people around it. The manager guides the business and employees, and the workers provide the work and effort needed to run the business. Employees are the lifeblood and the center of the business. They produce goods, administer and distribute them around the market, organize goods, advertise, sell, transport, maintain machines and repair, as well as office work.

Discrimination By Language

English is considered the international language spoken around the world. If you want to get anywhere outside the country, you should know how to speak and understand English, because it is a basic requirement. However when you are forced to speak English outside your time, when it is unnecessary if you aren’t a native of this country, it can be considered discriminatory. If the employer would have made it clear that using English as the only language as the only language inside the office as part of the standard company requirement, then it is necessary and doesn’t count for discrimination.

Keeping Your Job After Termination

One of the nightmares a dedicated employee might get during their career is being handed the termination slip, or a notice that their business relationship is now over. This has been referred to as by many employees by the name “Pink Slip of Doom”. Employees usually go into shock first, especially when they are least expecting to get terminated and often ask the question “what happens now” rather than “what did I do to deserve this?”

Marital Status Discrimination

An employee is protected by the law from discrimination due to their marital status. It is a violation of several state and federal laws to discriminate against someone simply because he or she is single or married. This covers all types of couples that are bonded by civil or church marriage, opposite sex couples or same sex couples. Discriminating another person because of their association to said people is also covered by the umbrella of this law.

Immigration Discrimination

To discriminate an employee or a worker because of their immigration status is something that is punishable by law. An immigrant is basically a person who has been accepted by the law to be allowed permanent residence in the United States, which means that they enjoy the same benefits as any true-blooded American would enjoy.

Different Kinds Of Employees

Private companies and employees of the private sector are assumed to be riding on a wave of free employment schemes. Formally called an “employment at will” doctrine, this is defined as both employer and employee having the privilege to end their working relationships without any explanation or prior reason for as long as it does not become illegal (like breach of contracts for example). An employer in this case has the right to terminate the employee with legal reasons (when declaring bankruptcy), and the employee has the choice to leave the company prematurely too (family issues, moving, etc).

Discrimination By Religion

The law requires that no man be discriminated because of his or her belief. Religious discrimination is the involvement of a person’s religious beliefs onto a decision that would pose unfavorably for the employee. This law covers all parts of the free nation, and protects not only the major religions like Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and such, but also other religions that may or may not belong to the lesser-known factions and to the minority.
